Cloudburst Forces Closing of JAZZHOUSE for a Short Period

As a result of the enormous cloudburst in the beginning of July, JAZZHOUSE has been forced to close down until February 1st 2012. The decision was made in mid August after experts surveyed JAZZHOUSE and gauged the extent of the water damage and found that the massive flooding means a major renovation job is unavoidable. So far it has been assessed that all the club’s floors must be replaced.

So, unfortunately it turns out that in spite of the heroic effort made by the club’s employees and volunteers on the night of July 2nd, it was impossible to spare JAZZHOUSE from the storm’s rage.

We are sincerely sorry for all the problems this is causing – not least of all for our clientele, our artists, JAZZHOUSE employees and our working partners.

This damage and the temporary closing of JAZZHOUSE comes at a very inopportune time, since the club was to celebrate its twentieth anniversary in October, with a music program chock-full of top artists and concerts practically every, single day.

We hope to be able to re-book as many of the canceled concerts as humanly possible.

Purchased tickets will be refunded by our ticket supplier, Billetlugen.dk, which in the days to come will be paying back the amounts for purchased tickets to the cancelled concerts.
